Session 1


Session 2

Creating More Ease

22 minutes.

When our experiences are overwhelming or negative they can have a massive impact on our well-being. We may find ourselves thinking that no one understands the pain we feel. Even the simplest tasks feel impossible some days and we long to feel relief from the heaviness of it all. Life feels like an uphill journey.

The starting point in any wellness journey needs to be easy. We need to experience small lifts of energy and well-being to motivate us to keep going. In this session, we begin identifying what is feeling overwhelming or challenging in life. Shauna leads you through a practice to learn how to create a little more ease around a difficult situation you are experiencing without the pressure to figure everything out all at once.

We’ll be referencing Connect Decks cards and app throughout the call. Whether you use the physical cards or download the app they are designed to assist you through this course experience by providing grounding, kinesthetic tools in emotional awareness. Connect Decks are not required to participate but can enhance your experience. If you do decide to purchase a physical set, they should arrive within 3-5 business days. If not, don’t worry! You can download the app instantly on App Store or Google Play or click on the free downloads below if you don’t have a set or the app and you’ll have everything you need.

In this audio, you’ll be asked to recall a current situation in life that you wish were easier. You’ll be referring to the Emotional Wellness chart in the link above so it might help to print a copy out for yourself. If you have Connect Decks, you can use them to help you identify the feelings that are coming up for you about this challenge. Click on the photo below for your Sesssion 2 audio module.

Within the strong, turbulent winds of the hurricane is the eye, a calm, quiet, centred space. In this meditation, you will become like the eye of a hurricane; the silent part of yourself that can notice difficult or challenging experiences without getting caught up and carried away by them. 

 

Session 3

Rest and Repair

25 minutes.

The impact emotional injury and stress have on our nervous system can be damaging to our physical and emotional well-being.

When we are in “fight” or “flight” we breath in a shallow, tense manner. Our muscles tighten to brace ourselves for perceived threats or challenges. When we are consistently in this state, serious illness can occur physically and mentally.

When we consciously slow down our breath our body begins to go into rest and repair mode. Deep breaths allow the body to move oxygen and create beneficial chemicals, hormones, even digestive enzymes. These nourish our cells and help them function well. In this section, you’ll find two easy relaxation techniques and a comforting meditation that you can practice and use anytime you feel stressed or overwhelmed. This grounding  meditation guides you to envision a healing light flooding your entire system clearing away anything that is no longer serving you. It can help you feel more grounded and more at home in this world. 

 

Session 4

Creating a Safe Sanctuary

15 minutes.

We cannot be in protective mode and healing/growth mode at the same time. Creating a sense of internal emotional safety is a key starting point for healing to begin. Let’s begin with a guided visualization to create a safe space of rest. This is a practice that you can access anytime you feel overwhelmed or anxious. It would be great to have some index cards and pencil crayons or markers handy for the creative art practice following the visualization.

Session 5

Developing A Self-Empathy Practice

22 minutes.

Join Shauna in some simple relaxation practices and an introduction to the Connect Decks emotional wellness process. This is the process of self-empathy; naming and validating how we feel, connecting to our needs and trusting our inner wisdom.

In this video, you are invited to bring something to mind that is troubling or stressful for you right now. As you move through the process you will experience the shifts that occur when you learn how to connect to emotional awareness and intuitive knowing. Making this a daily practice, using whatever might be troubling you at the time, is how you build inner awareness and restore well-being. Session 6

Releasing Self-Judgment

53 minutes.

One of the biggest obstacles both Lisa and I faced when recovering from burnout was the intense judgement we carried around about ourselves. The debilitating symptoms showing up in life were causing major problems in our health and energy levels. They were also affecting our ability to work and our relationships. We blamed ourselves for not “having it all together” and carried around judgment toward others who lacked empathy or patience.

What we needed was self-empathy; the ability to understand and compassionately connect without judgement. Now that you’ve been introduced to the idea of a self-empathy practice, let’s move forward with more self-compassion and kindness.

Releasing judgment allows us to move forward and heal the original injury. In this session, we’ll unravel some areas of judgment that may be holding us back.

In this meditation you will learn how to retrain the mind to help break the cycle of judgmental thinking patterns.

Lisa will also share a simple five step- process for honest and constructive self talk.

Session 7

Befriending Difficult Emotions

48 minutes.

We can learn to name and accept the difficult emotions we are feeling without distracting ourselves or denying they exist. When we do this, we give them room to speak to us. Even the most uncomfortable feeling has valuable information for us. If we can allow the feeling to tell the story it wants to tell, we can free the energy it represents and find relief.

In this session, Shauna reflects on this new perspective. Lisa guides us in a creative meditation helping us to embrace a difficult emotion so we can move beyond it.

Self-acceptance is realizing that you are already whole just the way you are. This meditation helps you let go of the impulse to please others and embrace your authentic self.


Session 8

Accepting Yourself Right Where You Are

47 minutes.

During our final meditation, you will be taken on a guided journey to reunite your body wisdom with your thought wisdom, bringing these two parts of yourself back into an empowered relationship.  

You will experience what is possible when a relationship with your emotions becomes a source of healing in your life.
